This express 3-day tour is perfect for those wishing to discover the Sahara Desert while connecting two major imperial cities: Fes and Marrakech. Despite its short duration, this journey offers you a complete desert experience with luxury camp night, camel trekking, and crossing of spectacular landscapes.
From Fes, you'll cross the Middle Atlas and its cedar forests home to Barbary macaques, then descend south along the magnificent Ziz Valley bordered by palm groves. The highlight is the magical night in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, followed by a return to Marrakech via Todra Gorges and Ouarzazate.
Itinerary
1Day 1 – Fes - Ifrane - Ziz Valley - Merzouga+
Early departure from Fes. Cross Azrou cedar forest home to Barbary monkeys. Pass through Midelt and spectacular descent into Ziz Valley bordered by palm groves. Arrive in Merzouga late afternoon. Sunset camel trek to desert camp.
2Day 2 – Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley+
Sunrise over dunes (optional). Return by camel after breakfast. Drive to Todra Gorges, spectacular canyon with 300m walls. Continue to Dades Valley and its rock formations.
3Day 3 – Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Marrakech+
Scenic road through Dades Valley. Visit Ait Benhaddou UNESCO site. Cross High Atlas via Tichka Pass. Arrive in Marrakech late afternoon.
