Description
Chefchaouen, the blue pearl of Morocco, is one of the most photogenic cities in the world. Its narrow alleyways entirely painted in shades of blue create a magical and peaceful atmosphere.
Founded in 1471 as a fortress against Portuguese invasions, the city later welcomed many Andalusian refugees who brought their unique architectural influence. The blue colour, a Sephardic Jewish tradition, is said to repel mosquitoes and bring spiritual peace.
Stroll through the medina, visit Uta el-Hammam Square, admire the kasbah, and browse local craft shops.
